CASA Silk: Blending Luxury and Minimalism in Residential Interior Design

An Elegant Translation of Silk into Interior Spaces

CASA Silk is a residential interior design project that draws inspiration from the luxurious material silk. Designed by Condi Design Co. and led by Webber (Ping-Chun) Chen, this project aims to create an atmosphere that is soft yet eye-catching, influenced by the visual appeal of silk.

CASA Silk stands out from other designs with its unique blend of luxury and minimalism. It seamlessly combines the two, creating a space that is both opulent and understated. The design interweaves the unique tastes that suit home and living, resulting in a harmonious and inviting environment.

The lounge area in CASA Silk showcases the interplay between silk and travertine walls. Light beams are strategically used to enhance the aging stone traces, creating a weave rhythm that echoes the texture of silk. The suite, on the other hand, presents silk materials in a figurative manner, with Victorian-style wallpaper exuding a sense of luxury. The guest room features thin dark slate and silk-alike wooden veneer elements, showcasing the classic design of Condi Interiors.

The realization of CASA Silk involved the use of various materials, including travertine, thin stone, wood, clear glass, gold, silver, titanium bars, and leather. These materials were carefully selected to bring out the essence of silk and create a visually stunning space.

The specifications of CASA Silk include a total space of 161sqm, with different areas designated for specific purposes. From the entrance to the balcony, each area is thoughtfully designed to maximize functionality and aesthetics.

CASA Silk is designed to cater to the needs of a professional businesswoman who seeks a relaxing lifestyle and a moment of calm in the busy central city. The design aims to provide a sanctuary where she can unwind and rejuvenate after a long day.

The project started in August 2013 and was completed in May 2014 in Taipei, Taiwan. Throughout the design process, the team at Condi Design conducted extensive research on the history and significance of silk. They discovered that silk has always been associated with prestige and elegance, making it the perfect material to translate into interior design.

One of the main challenges faced during the design process was capturing the client's personality and translating it into the design. Condi Design believes in incorporating the client's life stories and experiences into their designs, and CASA Silk was no exception. The client's love for silk became the foundation of the design concept, resulting in a space that truly reflects her personality.

CASA Silk is a testament to the beauty and versatility of silk. It provides an atmosphere that is both soft and eye-catching, showcasing the essence of silk in its design. With its blend of luxury and minimalism, CASA Silk offers a unique and inviting space that is sure to captivate anyone who enters.
